3rd UPDATE 2011
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen -- Winston Churchill
Friends as I write this 3rd updates since we started the year, we remain thankful to God for His continued faithfulness to us .We are making good progress in everyway here and our activities are gaining momentum.
In our past two updates, we talked more on the challenges we were facing, but now we can say that God has come through to us and for this we are happy.
All the children who joined high school has completed the first term and they are backing home for Easter holidays.
We thank God that we did not have any school fees balance for this past term. We managed to pay all the fees and levies that were needed for both the high school and the orphanage children. Thanks for your prayers, support, and contributions towards this need.
The new children we admitted at the orphanage adjusted very well and now they have gone back to be with relatives for a short while though we still have some who had to remain at the center for they have nowhere to go but the class eights pupils remained for tuition at school. We have got very encouraging reports from the relatives of these children about how neat, healthy and well behaved they are and about their general wellbeing. We thank God for this that the little we are doing in the lives of these children is being manifested on the outside.
On the list of the children of the orphanage, we have the following children listed below only are the ones who have been picked for prayers, please feel free to pick one child for prayers.(Refer to the first pictures with the names of the children I sent with the first updates) these are:
Teddy Ambila
Riziki Victoria Akinyi
Charles osewe
Tobias Oyoo
Samuel onyango
Joseph Owino Oduor
Elizabeth Awino
Fortunata Pamella Atieno
Brian Otieno.
The Girls at the Empowerment Center Have now finished making School Uniforms and are now making other African Traditional artifacts. We are preparing some for the Government Trade Test at the end of the year. Thanks for your continued prayers.
We are getting in touch with the our community Widows groups in preparation for the next years intake for the orphanage once the Class eights we have now leave the center later this year after doing their final primary exams qualifying them to join high school.
THE TWO BROTHERS

Wycliffe with Scars of wounds inflicted by father
The children’s department for rescue brought Wycliffe Odhiambo (6) and his brother Duncan Omondi (4) to us after the brutal abuse from the biological Father.
Wycliffe was physically abused by his father (see the photos) and was rescued by a teacher when his brother Duncan raised the alarm. The teacher then took the boy to the Hospital and was admitted there for three weeks. Meanwhile Duncan was sheltered at the neighbours home after which they were brought to our orphanage for safe custody.
The abuse seemingly had been going on for along time. The mother fled after the Father of the boys killed their first-born sister last year. Since then the mother has not been traced. We hope to take up this matter to trace the mother meanwhile the Fathers case is in the hands of the police. We plan to put them in school next term as we work on their cases.

Friend, you can now see that indeed this year God is giving us a different direction about the children we care for. The number has also grown.
Trust God with us for the provisions for this coming term. Do continue to pray for us.
