THE SPRINGS MINISTRIES ORPHANS GROUP – (S.M.O.G.)
This program targets the adolescent orphans within the community and high schools. This group comprises majority of orphan families with a mature sibling as a family head, and those living with single parents mostly mothers (mainly those in primary schools)
HIV/AIDS is seen as a disaster at household, community and national levels. The Springs ministries is complementing the Government, and Church in its struggle against the pandemic especially to the orphans.
The program activities focuses on:

- Providing a forum for discussion aimed at finding solutions for problems facing orphans.
|
|
|
- Offering vocational training, high school sponsorship, peer guidance and counseling services / training
|
|
|
- Identifying needs of members and assisting them in starting self-supporting projects for self-reliance.
|
|
|
- Helping orphans faced with any other social and economic problems and to create awareness in the society for the need to improve living standards and conditions.

In this program the activities include:

- Monthly meetings for community orphans from the instituted groups.
|
|
|
- High school visits to do guidance and counseling to the orphans and also to bear and identify with them in their distresses.
|
|
|
- Community sensitization for behavioral change.
|
|
|
- Capacity building for the orphaned youths on childcare and Home Based Care (HBC) for the terminally ill.
|
|
|
- Vocational trainings and high school sponsorships.
|
|
|
- Visit individual orphan’s projects with a view of promoting them.
|
|
|
- Organizing conferences, picnics, retreats, rallies and any other activity that would build the orphans spiritually and positively.
